Andrew Jones scored 13 points to lead an opportunistic Texas attack as the 17th-ranked Longhorns used a second-half surge to defeat Stanford 60-53 Sunday in the Pac-12 Coast to Coast Challenge in Las Vegas.

The Longhorns (8-2) were up by seven points at halftime and by just five nearly five minutes into the second half before showcasing their balance in a decisive 13-0 run. Six different players scored a basket each in that stretch, and Texas rode that surge and its defense to its second straight win.

Timmy Allen and Dylan Disu added 11 points each for Texas. The Longhorns forced 22 Stanford turnovers that they turned into 23 points.

Harrison Ingram led all scorers with 15 points, including 13 in a row for Stanford (6-4) over a 15-minute stretch of the second half. No other Cardinal player produced double-digit statistics.

Stanford was at its best in the middle of the first half when it rallied from an early deficit via a 3-pointer from Noah Taitz and a 3-point play by Jaiden Delaire and took a 17-13 lead. The Longhorns answered, tying the score at 19 on a dunk and free throw by Christian Bishop with 7:48 to play in the first half and never trailed again, building a 34-27 advantage at the break.

Jones led the Longhorns with eight points in the first half while Delaire paced Stanford with seven. Texas forced nine turnovers in the half that led to nine points and led in the game despite being outshot and outrebounded in the first 20 minutes.

The Longhorns were ahead by just five points with 15:15 left in the game but created separation with its crucial 13-0 run. Stanford got to within double digits just once after that until the final seconds.
