Oregon cornerback Mykael Wright announced Saturday he is entering the NFL draft and skipping the Alamo Bowl.

“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been patiently waiting for this day to come,” Wright said in his announcement on social media. “… That being said, I will be opting out of the bowl game and declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Wright had 65 tackles and one interception in 12 games this season. He had 111 stops and two interceptions in 34 career games for the Ducks and also returned two kickoffs for scores.

Wright joins star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and receiver Devon Williams as Oregon players to opt out of the Dec. 29 game against No. 16 Oklahoma.

No. 14 Oregon (10-3) has lost two of its past three games, both defeats coming against Pac-12 champion Utah.
