Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields exited Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens after injuring his ribs.

Fields was injured during Chicago’s first possession of the third quarter. Andy Dalton finished the 16-13 loss.

Bears coach Matt Nagy said he didn’t have any information about Fields during his postgame press conference.

“I don’t know any of that right now,” Nagy said of the extent of the injury and to a question about whether or not Fields sustained a fracture.

Fields completed 4 of 11 passes for 79 yards and rushed four times for 23 yards before exiting. Dalton was 11-of-23 passing for 201 yards and two touchdowns after entering in relief but couldn’t prevent Chicago (3-7) from losing its fifth straight game.

Nagy was noncommittal per whether a healthy Fields would start on Thanksgiving Day against the host Detroit Lions.

“I got to see exactly what type of injury he might have,” Nagy said. “We’ll get into all that but that’s not where we’re at right now.”

Dalton, who started Chicago’s first two games before injuring a knee, said he will be ready for Thursday’s game if needed.

“I prepare the same way I’ve prepared this whole year,” Dalton said. “So if I’m starting I’ll be ready to go.”

Fields was the 11th overall choice by the Bears out of Ohio State. Sunday’s start was his eighth of the season.
