NCAAB: Top 25 roundup: Xavier dumps No. 19 Ohio State

Paul Scruggs scored 10 of his 14 points in the final three minutes, and Xavier defeated visiting No. 19 Ohio State 71-65 in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Jack Nunge had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Nate Johnson added 12 points for the Musketeers (3-0).

E.J. Liddell led the Buckeyes (3-1) with 17 points and eight blocks. Meechie Johnson Jr. scored 14 points and Kyle Young added 12.

Scruggs, who averaged 20 points his first two games, was held in check until he broke out late, including a slam over Liddell with 25 seconds left for a 67-62 lead.

No. 3 Kansas 88, Stony Brook 59

Ochai Agbaji scored 25 points, including 10 straight during a breakaway run early in the second half, as the Jayhawks pounded the Seawolves in Lawrence, Kan.

Kansas netted 50 points in the second half, hitting 8 of 18 3-point attempts. David McCormack added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Jayhawks (3-0).

Stony Brook (0-2) got 11 points from Tykei Greene.

No. 22 St. Bonaventure 67, Boise State 61

Kyle Lofton had 17 points and seven assists as the Bonnies beat the Broncos in the first round of the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C.

The Bonnies (3-0), who have trailed at halftime in each of their games this season, will play Clemson in a semifinal on Friday. Boise State (1-2) will face Temple in the consolation round.

Jaren Holmes collected 14 points and 10 rebounds and Dominick Welch added 12 points for St. Bonaventure. Emmanuel Akot went 6-for-9 from 3-point range and led the Broncos with 24 points.

No. 24 Florida 81, Milwaukee 45

Colin Castleton scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Gators cruise to a victory over the Panthers in Gainesville, Fla.

Fresh off a huge victory over then-ranked Florida State, snapping a seven-game losing streak against the in-state rival, there was no let up for Florida (3-0).

Patrick Baldwin Jr. led Milwaukee (1-2) with 13 points, while Markeith Browning II finished with 11 points.
