DAMWON Gaming KIA stars Su “ShowMaker” Heo, Geon-bu “Canyon” Kim and Geon-hee “Beryl” Cho are entering League of Legends free agency, now that their contracts have expired.
The three were standouts for DWG KIA in the recently concluded LOL 2021 World Championships, in which the League Champions Korea power finished second to EDward Gaming. DWG KIA won the 2020 worlds, with Canyon being named most valuable player of the finals.
Also leaving the Korean organization is Dong-ha “Khan” Kim, whom Dexerto reported is heading off to fulfill required military service in South Korea. He spent one year with DWG KIA, while the others had been together two years.
DWG KIA could negotiate new contracts with ShowMaker, Canyon or Beryl, or team officials could decide to rebuild the roster through free agency.
Dexerto said substitute jungler Geun-seong “Malrang” Kim is expected to head to League of Legends European Championship play. If he does. that would leave DWG KIA with a roster of only AD carry Yong-jun “Ghost” Jang and his substitute, Min-seong “Rahel” Cho.
