Quenton Jackson scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack as Texas A&M played its best over the final 10 minutes on the way to a 86-65 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon in College Station, Texas.

The Aggies led by four points at halftime before A&M-CC leapfrogged ahead on a Trevian Tennyson 3-pointer with 14:43 to play.

Texas A&M then scored 11 of the game’s next 13 points to go up by 56-48 with 11:13 left, pushed the lead to 11 points on a jumper by Marcus Williams with 7:29 remaining and never let the Islanders back to within single digits again in the game.

Wade Taylor IV added 14 points for the Aggies, who had coach Buzz Williams on the bench for the first time this season after he missed the first two contests while serving an NCAA-mandated suspension.

Tyrece Radford had 11 points for Texas A&M, with Marcus Williams and Henry Coleman III hitting for 10 apiece in the win. The Aggies’ bench players, led by Jackson and Taylor, outscored A&M-CC’s reserves 47-19.

Myles Smith led all scorers with 16 points and Jalen Jackson hit for 13 for the Islanders.

The Islanders were up by as many as nine points in the first half after a layup by Issac Mushila at the 12:26 mark. Texas A&M rallied with a 14-2 run over the ensuing seven minutes capped by a Quenton Jackson jumper to take a 24-21 lead. The Aggies finished the half strong and 38-34 at the break.

Quenton Jackson led the Aggies with nine points in the first half while Jalen Jackson matched that pace and led A&M-CC.
