Teddy Bridgewater threw for a touchdown and rushed for another to lift the visiting Denver Broncos to a 30-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Bridgewater completed 19 of 28 passes for 249 yards, including a 44-yard scoring strike to Tim Patrick early the second quarter. Patrick finished with four catches for 85 yards and Jerry Jeudy had six receptions for 69 yards.

Melvin Gordon rushed for a touchdown and rookie Javonte Williams added a season-high 111 yards on the ground to send the Broncos (5-4) to their second straight win.

Dallas’ Dak Prescott completed 19 of 39 passes for 232 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in his return from a one-game absence due to a calf injury. Prescott connected on 5- and 4-yard touchdown passes to Malik Turner late in the fourth quarter for the Cowboys (6-2), who saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt.

The Broncos recorded a pair of early defensive stops before Gordon opened the scoring by rushing in from 3 yards out with 1:48 remaining in the first quarter. Brandon McManus pushed his extra-point attempt wide right following Gordon’s team-leading fourth rushing touchdown.

Denver made good on its next possession, with Patrick getting a step on Trevon Diggs before reeling in a 44-yard touchdown reception. Patrick got just inside the pylon for his team-leading fourth touchdown reception.

McManus later kicked a 53-yard field to give Denver a 16-point lead.

The Broncos added to their total following an unusual sequence during an attempted punt.

Turner blocked Sam Martin’s punt, however the ball traveled beyond the line of scrimmage and was touched by a Cowboys player. Jonas Griffith recovered the ball for Denver, which went an additional 10 plays and 72 yards before McManus drilled a 27-yard field goal to increase its lead to 19-0.

Bridgewater muscled his way into the end zone from 1 yard out early in the fourth quarter to cap a 13-play, 85-yard drive. Bridgewater then found Courtland Sutton in the back of the end zone for the two-point conversion to push the Broncos’ lead to 27-0.

The Cowboys pressed their luck on the ensuing possession. Rookie Caden Sterns intercepted Prescott on fourth down, and McManus tacked on a 42-yard field goal to essentially seal the win.
