The Tennessee Titans on Friday placed running back Darrynton Evans on injured reserve for a second time this season.

The move ends the 2021 campaign for Evans, who is nursing a knee injury.

Evans, 23, sat out the team’s first six games with a knee injury before being activated ahead of Tennessee’s 27-3 romp of the Kansas City Chiefs. He had two rushes for seven yards and two receptions for 11 yards on Sunday. He also participated in two plays on special teams.

Evans has 16 carries for 61 yards and four receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown in six career games. He was selected by the Titans in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Appalachian State.

Running back Jeremy McNichols serves as the primary backup to star Derrick Henry for the Titans (5-2), who visit the Indianapolis Colts (3-4) on Sunday.
