The Boston Uprising announced the signing of former Seoul Dynasty tank Minseo “MARVE1” Hwang on Thursday.
MARVE1, 21, spent the past three seasons with the Dynasty, joining the team after winning the Season 2 Overwatch Contenders China championship in 2018. He helped Seoul finish second in the May Melee and Overwatch League Grand Finals last year while earning MVP honors.
“I am excited to welcome Marve1 to the Boston Uprising,” Uprising president Chris “HuK” Loranger said in a statement.. “Beyond adding a ton of experience to our roster, Marve1 will bring plenty of versatility to our roster, having played both tank positions in the past.”

The Uprising parted with six players earlier this month as several OWL teams are undergoing roster overhauls ahead of the 2022 season. MARVE1 joins veteran DPS Nam-joo “Striker” Kwon, who returned to Boston earlier this week after spending three years with the San Francisco Shock, and support William “Crimzo” Hernandez as new signings.
MARVE1 began his professional career with Meta Bellum in 2017-18 and spent part of 2018 with Lucky Future Zenith before joining the Dynasty. He now joins Leyton “Punk” Gilchrist at the tank position for Boston.
