The Chicago Cubs continued to retool their front office, adding Ehsan Bokhari on Monday as assistant general manager.
Bokhari, who was the senior director of player evaluation for the Houston Astros, comes to the Cubs less than two weeks after Carter Hawkins was hired as general manager under president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer.
Originally a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ research and development staff, the 38-year-old Bokhari was with the Astros for four seasons. He has a PhD in quantitative psychology from Illinois, where he also has a master’s degree in statistics.
Longtime Cubs assistant general manager and former major leaguer Randy Bush will move into an advisory role with the club.
