An Alabama resident is dead following an argument over the Alabama-Texas A&M game Saturday, per a report from AL.com.

In Bessemer, Ala., a city on the outskirts of Birmingham, two men got into an argument at a Bessemer residence over which team was better during the closing moments of Texas A&M’s 41-38 upset win over the Crimson Tide.

The men were asked to leave by the homeowner, and once outside, 27-year-old Kealend Amad Pickens was shot and later pronounced dead, early Sunday morning.

Police said they know the identity of the shooter, who fled the scene, but are keeping it from media for now.

The loss was Alabama’s first since 2019, and it ended Alabama coach Nick Saban’s 100-game winning streak against unranked opponents.
