FlyQuest and LYON took the early advantage at the LTA North 2025 Split 2 on Sunday, winning for a second straight day to take the early lead in the League of Legends tournament’s Positioning Phase in Los Angeles.

Team Liquid and Cloud9 were the day’s other winners, each improving to 1-1 as the first of three weeks of positioning play concluded.

Eight teams are competing over three weeks of positioning play — a round-robin format in which each team plays the other seven once. Each match is one map and the results will determine Groups A and B for the group stage that begins on April 26.

Following the group stage and one week of cross-group battles, the top six teams will advance to the best-of-five, double-elimination playoffs. The total prize pool is $160,000, with $80,000 going to the winner and $40,000 to the runner-up. The winner also receives entry into the Mid-Season Invitational and the winner and runner-up qualify for the Esports World Cup.

On Sunday, FlyQuest took down Disguised in 36 minutes while playing on red to knock and LYON beat Dignitas while on blue in 39 minutes. Both losers fell to 0-2 in the event.

Cloud9 needed 35 minutes to beat Shopify Rebellion while on red and Team Liquid took down 100 Thieves in 33 minutes while playing on blue. All four teams now sit at 1-1.

Play resumes next weekend with four games on Saturday and four more on Sunday, with the schedule of the games yet to be announced.
