The PGA Tour is expected to move the Genesis Invitational from Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles to Torrey Pines near San Diego, Golfweek and Sports Illustrated reported Monday.

The tour announced last week that the Genesis would be relocated from Riviera due to the nearby wildfires that have ravaged the area.

Torrey Pines is the site of this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. The municipal course also hosted the 2008 and 2021 U.S. Opens, won by Tiger Woods and Spaniard Jon Rahm, respectively.

Choosing Torrey Pines would be a familiar option for the PGA Tour and bring the best golfers in the world to the course for the second time in a month. The Genesis is scheduled for Feb. 13-16.

One of the tour’s signature events with a limited field, the Genesis Invitational is organized by the Tiger Woods Foundation.

“The PGA Tour’s focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles,” the tour’s statement said in part. “We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to the tragic wildfires.

“In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the unfolding situation, we have determined that The Genesis Invitational 2025 will be played at an alternate location the week of Feb. 10-16.”
