Ilya Mikheyev scored twice and Teuvo Teravainen had two assists to back a 27-save effort from Arvid Soderblom as the Chicago Blackhawks topped the visiting Seattle Kraken 3-1 on Thursday for their season-best third win in a row.

Mikheyev continued a torrid stretch in which he has scored four goals in the past three games. He had two goals in the Blackhawks’ first 28 games.

Seattle goaltender Joey Daccord stopped 21 shots to help the Kraken tread water.

Daccord was especially strong during a scoreless first period. He made two saves on Taylor Hall at the end of a three-on-one Chicago rush and stopped separate rebound chances after Tyler Bertuzzi and Nolan Allan hit the post.

Mikheyev put the Blackhawks ahead 1-0 at 10:54 of the second period on a deflection of Teravainen’s shot from the right circle. He made it 2-0 at 6:06 of the third, beating Daccord on a wrist shot from the slot.

Playing the opener of a four-game road trip, Seattle was in peril of being shut out for the second game in a row. But the Kraken drew within 2-1 at 11:26 of the third period when Ryker Evans gathered a slap pass from Oliver Bjorkstrand and scored on a snap shot from the low left circle.

Allan netted his first career goal to restore Chicago’s two-goal advantage with 4:49 to go, converting a nifty cross-ice feed from Ryan Donato while Daccord contended with traffic in front of the net.

Chicago missed multiple chances at an empty-net goal in the closing minutes.

Kaapo Kakko made his Seattle debut after he arrived via a trade Wednesday with the New York Rangers. He had two shots on goal in 13:15 of ice time.

Chicago earned its first three-game winning streak since taking five in a row in February 2023.

The Kraken have lost three in a row and 8 of 12 (4-7-1). Seattle was 0-for-3 on the power play as the Blackhawks stretched their streak to 31 straight successful penalty kills.

The Blackhawks evened the season series with the Kraken at one game apiece.
