Asa Newell and De’Shayne Montgomery scored 16 points apiece, helping lead Georgia to a 100-49 rout of Buffalo on Thursday in Athens, Ga.

Silas Demary Jr. added 13 points for the Bulldogs (10-1), who extended their winning streak to five games. Savo Drezgic chipped in 11, and Blue Cain contributed 10. Somto Cyril tallied 10 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for Georgia, which shot 53.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent (14-for-34) on 3-point attempts.

Tyson Dunn led Buffalo (5-6) with nine points, while Tim Oboh scored seven. The Bulls shot just 34 percent from the field and made just 4 of 19 3-point attempts (21.1 percent). Buffalo, which dropped its second straight game, turned the ball over 19 times to Georgia’s five giveaways.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 23-0 lead, with the run stamped by Demary’s back-to-back 3-pointers and Tyrin Lawrence’s steal and slam. Buffalo finally scored when Dunn hit a layup with 14:35 left in the half.

After Oboh’s 3-pointer trimmed Buffalo’s deficit to 26-8, Montgomery — who made his season debut for the Bulldogs after gaining academic eligibility — began an 8-0 run with a layup.

With 1:32 left in the opening half, Dunn’s layup cut Georgia’s lead to 51-19, before five points from Drezgic gave the Bulldogs a 56-19 halftime lead.

Georgia, which shot 65.6 percent from the field and 52.6 percent on 3-point tries (10 of 19) in the first half, was led by Demary’s 13 first-half points. Oboh led Buffalo with five in the opening half as the Bulls hit 26.9 percent from the floor prior to the break, 2 of 11 (18.2 percent) from long range.

Newell scored the first six points of the second half, pushing the advantage to 62-19. After consecutive baskets from Dunn and Frederiks Meinarts cut the Bulls’ deficit to 75-38, Newell’s hook shot started a 12-0 Bulldogs run as Buffalo went scoreless for 3:24.
