Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele scored twice apiece and the Winnipeg Jets continued their historic start with a 6-3 victory over the host New York Rangers on Tuesday.
The Jets became the fastest team in NHL history to reach 15 wins, moving to 15-1-0 on the season as they began a stretch of nine out of 10 on the road. Winnipeg also improved to 7-0-0 on the road and ran its overall winning streak to seven games.
Gabriel Vilardi and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored for the Jets, and Neal Pionk and Nikolaj Ehlers each had two assists. Connor also contributed an assist, and Connor Hellebuyck made 33 saves for the win.
Will Cuylle had a goal and an assist and Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko also scored for the Rangers, who fell to 4-4-0 since starting 5-0-1. New York goalie Igor Shesterkin stopped 27 shots.
Oilers 4, Islanders 3 (OT)
Leon Draisaitl scored two goals, including the game-winner 1:52 into overtime, as host Edmonton edged New York.
Evan Bouchard and Connor McDavid also scored for the Oilers, who have won two straight. McDavid had three assists to move within one point of 1,000 for his career, and Bouchard added two assists. Edmonton goalie Stuart Skinner made 19 saves.
Anders Lee scored twice, Kyle Palmieri had a goal and an assist and Jean-Gabriel Pageau notched two assists for the Islanders, who lost in overtime for the second straight game. Ilya Sorokin recorded 38 saves.
Senators 3, Maple Leafs 0
Linus Ullmark earned his first shutout of the season and ninth of his career as visiting Ottawa defeated Toronto.
Ullmark turned aside 27 shots for the Senators, who have won four games in a row in Toronto. Josh Norris, Tim Stutzle and Michael Amadio scored for the Senators, and Artem Zub added two assists.
Anthony Stolarz made 38 saves for the Maple Leafs, who had a three-game winning streak end while completing a four-game homestand. They had not been shut out in a regular-season game at home since Nov. 20, 2021.
Devils 4, Panthers 1
Timo Meier scored the go-ahead goal and Jacob Markstrom made 34 saves, fueling New Jersey to a victory and snapping Florida’s seven-game winning streak in Sunrise, Fla.
New Jersey’s Jack Hughes became the fastest player in franchise history to record 300 career points with a first-period goal. Paul Cotter and Ondrej Palat provided insurance with late third-period tallies. Jesper Bratt and Dougie Hamilton each notched two assists to propel the Devils to their sixth win in eight games.
Florida’s Sam Reinhart scored on the power play for his team-leading 12th goal of the season. Spencer Knight made 20 saves in his first start since Nov. 2 for the Panthers, who played without Sam Bennett (upper-body injury).
Bruins 3, Blues 2
David Pastrnak scored the game-winning goal after an earlier assist as visiting Boston rallied past St. Louis.
Charlie McAvoy also had a goal and an assist and Morgan Geekie added a goal for the Bruins, who erased a 2-0 deficit in the third period to improve to 4-1-1 in their past six games. Jeremy Swayman made 20 saves. Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm sustained a lower-body injury while blocking a shot in the first period and didn’t return.
Brayden Schenn and Oskar Sundqvist scored for the Blues, who lost for the sixth time in their past eight games (2-6-0). Jordan Binnington made 27 saves.
Canucks 3, Flames 1
Elias Pettersson scored in his second consecutive multi-point game to lead host Vancouver to a victory over Calgary.
Erik Brannstrom also recorded one goal and one assist for the Canucks, who won on home ice for only the second time this season (2-2-3). Pius Suter scored once, and J.T. Miller collected a pair of assists. Kevin Lankinen made 28 saves to record the victory.
Justin Kirkland scored for the Flames, who were playing their third game in four days and received a 29-save performance from goaltender Dan Vladar.
Kraken 5, Blue Jackets 2
Fourth-liners Tye Kartye and Brandon Tanev sparked a comeback as Seattle rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat visiting Columbus.
Kartye, Tanev, Eeli Tolvanen and Will Borgen scored second-period goals and Jared McCann added an empty-netter as the Kraken improved to 2-0-0 on their six-game homestand. Jordan Eberle (two assists) and McCann finished with two points. Seattle goaltender Joey Daccord made 38 saves.
Sean Kuraly and Zach Aston-Reese each produced a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, whose losing streak reached six games (0-5-1). Kevin Labanc assisted on both tallies, and Elvis Merzlikins stopped 28 of 32 shots.
