Dallas Cowboys All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Mike McCarthy said on Friday.

Diggs has yet to participate in practice this week while dealing with a calf injury sustained in Dallas’ 30-24 setback to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Earlier on Friday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas that Diggs has a “tear in his calf.”

McCarthy, however, said Diggs had a “good workout” with Cowboys athletic trainer Britt Brown on Friday.

“There’s specific drills we’ll need to him to do tomorrow, but he was much better today than we could’ve anticipated,” McCarthy said. “He’s doing everything he can to try to get ready for Sunday.”

Signed to a five-year, $97 million contract extension in the summer of 2023, Diggs has recorded 28 tackles and an interception in seven games (all starts) this season.

Diggs, 26, led the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021. The two-time Pro Bowl selection has 19 picks — including two returned for touchdowns — to go along with 201 tackles in 54 career games (53 starts) since being selected by Dallas in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
