NHL: Blues F Robert Thomas (ankle) out six weeks

St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas has a fractured ankle and will be re-evaluated in six weeks, the team announced Wednesday.

Thomas also has been placed on injured reserve. He sustained the injury after blocking a shot from Winnipeg defenseman Neal Pionk during the third period of the Blues’ 3-2 setback to the Jets on Tuesday.

Thomas, 25, notched two assists in Tuesday’s game. He has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in seven games this season.

A Stanley Cup champion with St. Louis, Thomas has totaled 321 points (87 goals, 234 assists) in 403 career games since being selected by the Blues with the 20th overall pick of the 2017 NHL Draft.
