Miami Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley departed Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the third quarter with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

The Dolphins initially said Huntley was questionable to return, but soon after he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Huntley exited after taking a hit to the right shoulder from Kenny Moore II while throwing an incomplete pass on third down with 7:36 left in the third quarter. He immediately went to the locker room.

Miami coach Mike McDaniel said he didn’t have an update to share when he met with reporters after the contest.

“He’s a tough guy and coming off the field, he was saying he’d be good,” McDaniel said. “I don’t really know the extent of it but I know it takes a lot to keep him out.”

Tim Boyle took over when Miami next had the ball. He completed 8 of 13 passes for 74 yards.

The Dolphins remain without Tua Tagovailoa, who sustained a concussion in Week 2.

Though there is speculation Tagovailoa could return to practice Wednesday, McDaniel declined to talk about him. The coach said he wanted to talk about players who played in the game on Sunday and would discuss players on injured reserve on Monday. Tagovailoa is on IR.

Huntley completed 7 of 13 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown before exiting. He rushed for 20 yards on five carries.
