100 Thieves and paIN Gaming swept their elimination matches Saturday to stay alive at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in Berlin.
100 Thieves posted 32- and 25-minute wins on red against Fukuoka HAWKS gaming and paIN Gaming registered a 33-minute win on blue and a 35-minute victory on red against Vikings Esports.
Hyeon-seung “Quid” Lim of South Korea led the way for 100 Thieves with a 12/2/14 kill-death-assist ratio.
Ui-seok “Wizer” Choi of South Korea posted a 13/1/13 K-D-A ratio for paIN Gaming.
100 Thieves and paIN Gaming advanced to Sunday’s decider matches, with the winners qualifying for the Oct. 3-13 Swiss Stage. 100 Thieves will face PSG Talon and paIN Gaming will meet Rainbow7.
All play-in matches, which run through Sunday, are best-of-three. Eight teams began the double-elimination event, with the top four reaching the Swiss Stage.
