Logan Farrington had a goal and an assist in the second half to help FC Dallas pick up a critical 3-1 win against Los Angeles FC on Saturday night in Frisco, Texas.

Petar Musa and Patrickson Delgado scored the first two goals for FC Dallas (10-13-7, 37 points), who need a late-season surge to climb into the Western Conference playoff picture.

Dallas ended a three-match winless streak (0-2-1), but still must move up a few spots in the standings with four regular-season matches remaining.

Los Angeles (14-8-7, 49 points) has gone five consecutive MLS matches (0-3-2) without a victory, yet the team is contending for the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Maarten Paes of Dallas made three saves in his second match back from an international assignment.

Eduard Atuesta scored in the 86th minute for Los Angeles.

Farrington substituted into the match toward the end of the first half when Musa departed with an injury. Farrington took full advantage, getting on the scoresheet for the second time in a four-match span.

Musa scored in the 28th minute for his team-leading 15th goal this season. He has 10 goals in his last 11 matches.

Delgado’s fourth goal of the season came in the 60th minute. Farrington assisted on the goal.

Two minutes later, Farrington scored his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Jesus Ferreira.
