New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers’ status is up in the air for the second half of Thursday night’s game against the host New York Jets because of an ankle injury.

Peppers was initially injured on the first play of the second quarter, a 27-yard completion to Allen Lazard. He was listed as questionable to return and did eventually come back, but he was then seen heading back to the locker room just before the break. The Jets led 14-3 at halftime.

Before failing to finish the first half, Peppers had four tackles.

Peppers, 28, entered Thursday with 12 tackles in two games (all starts) this season.
