NFL: NFL roundup: Trevor Lawrence, Jags trounce Falcons

Trevor Lawrence capped each of his two drives with touchdown passes to Evan Engram as the Jacksonville Jaguars routed the host Atlanta Falcons 31-0 on Friday as each team concluded the preseason.

Lawrence connected on 8 of 10 passes for 92 yards, including scoring strikes of 6 yards and 5 yards, respectively, to his tight end.

Mac Jones took over at quarterback for Jacksonville (3-0) and went 13 of 18 for 113 yards and a 13-yard TD pass to Elijah Cooks late in the first half. Jaguars running back Gary Brightwell ran for 49 yards on 12 carries.

The Falcons, with quarterback Kirk Cousins sitting out, managed just 157 total yards and eight first downs.

Taylor Heinicke got the start under center for Atlanta (0-3) and finished 8 of 17 for 81 yards. Spencer Brown ran 11 times for 51 yards. Falcons linebacker Donavan Mutin logged 18 tackles — 12 more than anyone else in the game.

Buccaneers 24, Dolphins 14

Baker Mayfield guided a seven-play, 70-yard touchdown drive in his lone action as host Tampa Bay defeated Miami.

Mayfield completed all three of his passes for a combined 54 yards, and Rachaad White ran 4 yards to complete the opening drive of the game.

Kyle Trask went the rest of the way at quarterback for Tampa Bay (2-1), going 17 of 24 for 141 yards and touchdowns. He hit Ryan Miller for a 10-yard TD that gave the Buccaneers a 17-0 lead in the second quarter, and his 2-yard pass to Tanner Knue completed the scoring.

With Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sitting out, Mike White started and threw for 37 yards on 5-of-9 passing. Skylar Thompson wound up 19 of 27 for 190 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.

Rookie tight end Hayden Rucci paced Miami (2-1) with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Raiders 24, 49ers 24

Daniel Carlson kicked a 43-yard field goal with 16 seconds remaining, lifting host Las Vegas to a tie against San Francisco. No overtime is played in preseason games.

Tyreik McAllister scored on an 81-yard punt return and a 35-yard reception for the Raiders (0-2-1).

Las Vegas’ top two quarterbacks, Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell, both sat out. Nathan Peterman started and completed 12 of 19 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown, and Carter Bradley produced 169 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 9-of-21 passing.

Ramel Keyton caught four passes for 76 yards to lead the Raiders

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy played three series and connected on 9 of 12 passes for 96 yards with an interception. Jordan Mason put up 42 yards and a touchdown on eight carries for the 49ers (1-1-1).
