MLS: Minnesota United add Argentina’s Joaquin Pereyra

Minnesota United signed midfielder Joaquin Pereyra of Argentina as a designated player on Thursday.

The 25-year-old arrives from Atletico Tucuman and is under contract through 2027 with an option for 2028.

“We look forward to Joaquin Pereyra joining Minnesota United and strengthening our roster,” said Khaled El-Ahmad, Minnesota United’s sporting director. “We believe his abilities are a good fit for our club and he’s excited to showcase his talents to our fans.”

Pereyra tallied six goals and 16 assists 194 career appearances with Argentina’s Tucuman (2021-24) and Rosario Central (2016-22) and on loan with Portugal’s Famalicao (2020-21).

“I am thrilled to come to Minnesota United and play for this great club,” Pereyra said. “I’m very happy and look forward to helping the team. I am ready and have many dreams to achieve big things with the club.”
