Spencer Steer drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly as the visiting Cincinnati Reds avoided a sweep with a 4-3 comeback victory over Milwaukee on Sunday, snapping the Brewers’ five-game winning streak.

Steer put the Reds up 4-3 in the seventh with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly off Joe Ross (2-6), following a single and two walks.

Milwaukee tied it at 3 with a run in the sixth. With one out, Gary Sanchez walked and William Contreras doubled, chasing starter Nick Lodolo. Willy Adames greeted reliever Buck Farmer with an RBI single.

Farmer (2-0) got the win despite the blown save with two-thirds of an inning of work. Alexis Diaz tossed a perfect ninth for his 23rd save in 25 opportunities.

The Reds erased a 2-0 deficit against starter DL Hall with two runs in the fourth and Tyler Stephenson’s two-out solo homer to right-center, his 15th, in the fifth.

Steer opened the fourth with an infield single and Stuart Fairchild walked. TJ Friedl was hit by a pitch with two outs to load the bases. Santiago Espinal followed with a two-run single to center. But the Reds missed a chance to add on when Friedl was caught in an inning-ending rundown between second and third on the play.

Hall, activated earlier in the day off the 60-day injured list, was making his first big league start since April 20 due to a knee sprain. He allowed three runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings, striking out a career-high nine and walking three.

Joey Ortiz staked the Brewers to a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer in the second inning.

Adames walked to open the frame. After Blake Perkins flied to center, Ortiz sent a 1-2 pitch 375 feet to left for his eighth homer and first since June 25.
