Seattle Mariners star outfielder Julio Rodriguez was activated from the injured list on Sunday after missing nearly three weeks with a high right ankle sprain.

Per an ESPN report, Rodriguez is expected to serve as Seattle’s designated hitter in Sunday night’s series finale against the visiting New York Mets. He was placed on the 10-day injured list July 23.

In a corresponding move, the Mariners optioned infielder Ryan Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma.

Rodriguez, a two-time All-Star and 2022 American League Rookie of the Year, was injured on July 21 after he crashed into the wall while attempting to make a catch during the Mariners’ 6-4 victory over the Houston Astros. He fell down on the warning track and immediately grabbed his ankle.

Rodriguez, 23, is batting .263 with 11 homers, 37 RBIs and 18 steals through 100 games this season. He has 71 homers and 215 RBIs in 387 career games.

Bliss, 24, was batting .222 with two homers and nine RBIs in 33 games with Seattle.
