The Los Angeles Angels reinstated left fielder Taylor Ward from the paternity list Friday in advance of a series opener against the Washington Nationals.

A spot on the active roster was open after infielder Charles Leblanc was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake following Thursday’s game against the New York Yankees.

Ward, 30, is batting .228 with 16 home runs and 55 RBIs in 109 games. In seven seasons with the Angels, Ward is a career .249 hitter with 68 home runs and 222 RBIs in 500 games.

Leblanc, 28, had one hit in six at-bats over two games for the Angels. He has 50 games of major league experience, also playing with the Miami Marlins in 2022, and has batted .259 with four home runs and 11 RBIs.
