MLB: Red Sox place RHP Cooper Criswell on COVID-related injury list

The Boston Red Sox placed right-hander Cooper Criswell on the COVID-19-related, 10-day injured listed on Friday.

Criswell, 28, last pitched for two-thirds inning in relief in Boston’s 9-5 win over the host Kansas City Royals on Monday. He allowed two runs and three hits. The move is retroactive to Thursday.

He is 4-4 with a 4.02 ERA, 17 walks and 56 strikeouts in 71 2/3 innings over 18 games (13 starts).

Criswell is a career 5-6 with a 4.69 ERA, 29 walks and 87 strikeouts in 109 1/3 innings over parts of four seasons with the Los Angeles Angels (2021), Tampa Bay Rays (2022-23) and Red Sox.

In other moves Friday, the Red Sox placed starting pitcher Brayan Bello on the paternity list and recalled left-hander Cam Booser and right-hander Brad Keller from Triple-A Worcester.

The right-handed Bello, 25, is 10-5 with a 5.16 ERA, 41 walks and 109 strikeouts in 111 2/3 innings over 21 starts this season.

Booser, 32, made his major league debut on April 19. He is 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA, 10 walks and 38 strikeouts in 39 innings over 38 relief appearances.

Keller, 29, is 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA, five walks and 11 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings over nine relief appearances for the Red Sox this season.
