The CFL’s Edmonton Elks fired head coach and general manager Chris Jones on Monday.

Offensive coordinator Jarious Jackson is now the interim head coach and assistant general manager Geroy Simon is the interim GM.

The Elks dropped to 0-5 with a 37-34 home loss to the Ottawa Redblacks on Sunday.

This ends the second stint as Edmonton’s head coach for Jones, 56.

From 2014-15, he guided the then-Eskimos to a 26-10 record and the 2015 Grey Cup championship.

After coaching the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 2016-18, he rejoined the Elks and posted an 8-33 record from 2022-24.
