Sebastian Ferreira scored the tying goal in the 82nd minute as the Houston Dynamo rallied for a 1-1 draw with visiting Minnesota United on Saturday night.

Ferreira, who nearly scored in the 78th minute with a highlight-reel bicycle kick try from the middle of the box, tied it four minutes later with his fifth goal of the season, tapping in a loose ball with a left-footed shot from the edge of the 6-yard box.

Steve Clark made two saves for Houston (8-7-7, 31 points), which finished with a 25-7 edge in shot attempts and a 71.7 percent-28.3 percent advantage in time of possession.

Robin Lod scored and Alec Smir finished with six saves for Minnesota United (8-9-6, 30 points), which snapped a team-record six-match losing streak.

Following a 45-minute delay to start the match due to lightning in the area, Minnesota United had two good scoring chances in the fourth minute but came away empty-handed. Joseph Rosales had the first with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box that Clark turned away. About 30 seconds later, Bongi Hlongwane redirected a Sang Bin Jeong pass from the right side of the box off the right post.

Houston didn’t have its first shot on goal until the 29th minute when Artur drilled a right-footed shot outside the box that Smir caught. Three minutes later, Ibrahim Aliyu had the best scoring chance of the half when he took a Amine Bassi pass on the left side of the box and attempted a right-footed shot that Smir made a diving stop on.

Lod gave the Loons a 1-0 lead in the 70th minute when he made a run inside the 6-yard box and redirected a Rosales cross with his left foot inside the left post for his sixth goal of the season.

Ferreira had a chance to win it in the second minute of stoppage time but his left-footed shot from the top of the box was deflected wide of the right post.
