The Los Angeles Dodgers placed All-Star right-hander Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to lower back tightness.

Manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Glasnow’s back flared up on Sunday as he was playing catch. He last pitched Friday and was slated for one more start before the break this Friday at the Detroit Tigers.

Roberts said he believes Glasnow could return shortly after the All-Star break.

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene will replace Glasnow on the NL roster for his first All-Star selection. Greene, 24, is 5-4 with a 3.45 ERA in 18 starts for Cincinnati and leads the team in strikeouts (116) and innings pitched (104 1/3). He leads Major League Baseball with 13 hit batters this season.

Glasnow, 30, was the Dodgers’ Opening Day starter against the San Diego Padres in Seoul and was named to his first career All-Star Game on Sunday.

In 18 starts, Glasnow is 8-5 with a 3.47 ERA and a National League-leading 143 strikeouts in 109 innings. He was one of several high-profile acquisitions Los Angeles made this offseason, coming over in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Glasnow is the latest Dodgers starting pitcher to be sidelined by injury. He joins Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May on the injured list, while two-way star Shohei Ohtani is not pitching this year due to Tommy John surgery.

Glasnow is 38-32 with a 3.82 ERA in 145 games (106 starts) across nine MLB seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2016-18), Rays (2018-23) and Dodgers.

The Dodgers recalled right-hander Michael Petersen from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Petersen, 30, made his major league debut for Los Angeles earlier this summer, going 2-0 with a 4.66 ERA in six relief appearances. He was 2-0 with a 1.61 ERA and four saves in 23 games out of the bullpen for Oklahoma City.
