MLB: Cardinals RHP Kyle Gibson (back) scratched vs. Marlins

St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Matthew Liberatore will take the mound against the host Miami Marlins on Wednesday afternoon after scheduled starter Kyle Gibson was scratched due to tightness in his back.

Liberatore, 24, is 1-2 with a 4.41 ERA in 25 appearances (three starts) this season. He has a bloated 23.14 ERA without a decision in three career meetings (one start) against the Marlins.

Gibson, 36, is 5-2 with a 3.44 ERA in 14 games (all starts) this season.
