The Colorado Rapids erased a 3-1, first-half deficit to emerge with a 3-3 draw against Minnesota United on Saturday night in Commerce City, Colo.

Kevin Cabral recorded a brace and Rafael Navarro had the other goal for Colorado (6-5-4, 22 points), which picked up at least one point for the seventh time in 10 matches.

Sang-Bin Jeong notched a first-half brace and Tanitoluwa Oluwaseyi added a goal and an assist for Minnesota (7-2-4, 25 points). With the tie, the Loons extended their unbeaten streak to six matches (4-0-2).

Colorado cut its deficit to 3-2 in the 62nd minute when Navarro headed in a Djordje Mihailovic corner kick.

Five minutes later, the Rapids had an excellent chance to tie the match. DJ Taylor took Omir Fernandez down in the box, and Colorado was awarded a penalty kick.

However, Navarro’s ensuing PK was stopped by Minnesota goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair.

The Rapids tied things at 3-3 in the 71st minute, as Cabral’s header off Cole Bassett’s through ball trickled past St. Clair.

Colorado dominated first-half possession, but Minnesota led 3-1 after 45 minutes.

Jeong opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a right-footed strike from the penalty area that beat Colorado goalkeeper Zack Steffen for his second goal of the season.

Robin Lod picked up his team-leading 10th assist on the goal.

The Rapids responded 10 minutes later, as Cabral’s header off a feed from Fernandez beat a diving St. Clair for his second goal of the season.

The Loons retook the lead in the 24th minute on Oluwaseyi’s tally. The play was initially called offside, but VAR determined it was a good goal.

Jeong added his second goal of the night in the 33rd minute, taking an Oluwaseyi through ball and beating Steffen with a left-footed strike.

Saturday was the first of two meetings between the sides this season. Colorado travels to Minnesota on Sept. 28 to conclude the season series.
