Longtime League of Legends star Sang-hyeok “Faker” Lee was announced Wednesday as the first inductee into the Hall of Legends.

A news release from Riot Games said Faker, a midlaner, was being honored for his “mastery of League of Legends gameplay, numerous contributions to the sport, and for inspiring millions of fans across the globe.”

A member of the T1 organization since 2013, the 28-year-old Faker has earned 10 LCK titles, two Mid-Season Invitational titles and four world championships with his team.

“Faker is truly the most iconic and influential figure in League of Legends and esports history,” said John Needham, president of esports at Riot Games, of the South Korean. “His name is synonymous with excellence in LoL Esports, and he has rightfully earned his place as our very first Hall of Legends inductee.”

For the achievement, Faker will be the subject of a Hall of Legends in-game event that will take players on a trip through the biggest moments of his career. He also will receive a trophy and be gifted a custom Mercedes-AMG SL 63, as well as percentage of revenues from in-game sales.

LoL Esports plans to induct a pro player annually, selected by a voting panel of esports industry veterans and experts who will consider players based on factors such as international berths, international and regional titles, role-specific stats and contributions to the sport.
