Magic guard Jalen Suggs started the second half of Game 2 of Orlando’s first-round Eastern Conference playoff series with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday after exiting the contest in the first quarter due to a left knee strain.
Suggs tried to help defensively on Donovan Mitchell, bumped into the Cleveland guard and fell to the ground and immediately grabbed his leg near the knee. He appeared to be in intense pain before being attended to and was helped off the court with 4:02 left in the first without putting weight on his left leg.
The Magic originally listed Suggs as questionable to return.
Suggs, 22, scored 13 points on just 4-of-16 shooting in Game 1, which the Magic lost 97-83 on Saturday. He was scoreless in eight minutes on Monday prior to the injury.
Backup Markelle Fultz took over the ball-handling duties after Suggs left.
Suggs, a third-year pro, averaged 12.6 points in 75 regular-season games (all starts).
