CF Montreal loaned defender Robert Thorkelsson to Norway’s Kongsvinger IL Toppfotball on Thursday.

The agreement runs through Aug. 1, 2024, and includes an option for a permanent transfer.

The 22-year-old Iceland international appeared in 20 MLS matches (two starts) since signing with Montreal in 2021.

Earlier Thursday, Montreal received $150,000 in 2024 general allocation money from Inter Miami in exchange for a 2024 international roster slot.
