The New York Mets put starting pitcher Tylor Megill on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain.

In a corresponding move, the Mets called up fellow right-hander Reed Garrett from Triple-A Syracuse.

Megill underwent an MRI on Sunday after leaving his start against Milwaukee after 78 pitches.

Megill, 28, took the loss, giving up two runs (one earned) in four innings. He struck out four and walked three.

Megill went 9-8 with a 4.70 ERA in 25 starts last season.
