NBA2K: Kings Guard top Warriors Gaming to close Switch Open group play

Kings Guard GC notched a 3-1 victory over Warriors Gaming Squad to wrap up NBA 2K League 3v3 Switch Open group play Monday in Sacramento, Calif.

Kings Guard struck first with a 23-17 win, then cruised to a 22-5 blowout for a 2-0 series lead. Warriors Gaming stayed afloat with a 21-15 victory, but Kings Guard pulled out a tight, 21-19 win to finish the series in four games.

Raymond “KIK6” Rodriguez averaged 9.3 points per game for KingsGuard including a team-high 12 on 5-of-5 shooting plus three assists in the final game. Andy “ScoreSzn” Fernandez added 7.8 ppg, with a 13-point showing with three 3-pointers and four assists in the second game.

Neadal “Mama Im Dat Man” Nasser scored a team-high nine points for Warriors Gaming in their only win of the series.

The Sacramento Kings’ 2K League team finished group play 2-2, while the Golden State Warriors’ affiliate fell to 1-3. Bracket play begins Thursday, with matchups yet to be announced.

The Switch Open is the second of three 3v3 tournaments in the NBA 2K League season. Lakers Gaming won the Slam Open, and the Steal Open will follow next month. The 3v3 playoffs are set for April 24-27 in Washington, with cumulative results in the three tournaments determining the playoff field and seeding.
