Southern Illinois plans to fire head coach Bryan Mullins after five seasons, according to multiple reports.

Mullins was 86-68 with the Salukis and also played point guard for the university prior to his coaching career. He was third in the Missouri Valley Conference coach of the year voting announced earlier this week.

Mullins won 42 games the past two seasons. Southern Illinois blew a late lead to UIC in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament on Thursday night in a game that likely sealed his fate.
