Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young will undergo surgery to repair an injury to his left pinkie finger and will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the team announced Sunday.

The announcement came shortly after the Hawks ruled Young out of Sunday’s game against the visiting Orlando Magic.

Young sustained the injury during Atlanta’s 123-121 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday. He underwent an MRI on Saturday at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex, which revealed a tear of the radial collateral ligament (RCL) in the pinkie finger.

The surgery for Young will be performed on Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York.

Young, 25, averages a team-best 26.4 points and 10.8 assists in 51 games (all starts) this season. He was limited to 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor on Friday.

A three-time All-Star, Young is contributing 25.6 points and 9.5 assists in 404 career games (all starts) since being selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Forward Onyeka Okongwu, who averages 10.2 points and 7.0 rebounds, also was ruled out for the Hawks due to a toe injury.

For Orlando, guard Gary Harris has been ruled out due to right calf injury maintenance.

Harris, 29, is averaging 7.0 points and 1.7 assists in 35 games (eight starts) this season.
