Journeyman forward Danilo Gallinari is joining the Milwaukee Bucks for the rest of the season, ESPN and The Athletic reported Thursday.

The Bucks will be Gallinari’s eighth career team and his third this season. He played 26 games with the Washington Wizards and six with the Detroit Pistons, two bottom-feeders in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons waived Gallinari after last week’s trade deadline.

With Milwaukee, which sits third in the East, Gallinari will reunite with one of his former coaches, Doc Rivers.

The Athletic reported that Gallinari also considered the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers, where he played for Rivers from 2017-19.

Gallinari has averaged 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds over 14.8 minutes per game over his 32 appearances this season. He has averaged 15.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game over his 760-game career with the New York Knicks (2008-11), Denver Nuggets (2011-17), Clippers (2017-19)), Oklahoma City Thunder (2019-20), Atlanta Hawks (2020-22), Wizards and Pistons.
