The NHL fined Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark $5,000 on Wednesday for high-sticking Tampa Bay Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont.

The incident occurred during Tampa Bay’s 3-2 shootout win Tuesday night in Boston.

Eyssimont made contact with Ullmark in the crease and the goalie raised his stick into the forward’s face while he was falling backward. No penalty was assessed on the play.

Ullmark, 30, is 16-6-3 with a shutout, a 2.64 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage this season, his third with the Bruins. He won the Vezina and Jennings trophies in 2022-23.

The fine is the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.
