MLB: Orioles acquire Nick Maton from Tigers

The Baltimore Orioles acquired utility man Nick Maton from the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Maton, 26, hit .173 with eight home runs and 32 RBIs in 93 games last season, his first with Detroit after spending two years with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Primarily used as an infielder, Maton has also been utilized as a right fielder, left fielder and designated hitter throughout his major league career.

In 179 career games, Maton has posted a .208 batting average with a .306 on-base percentage, a .361 slugging percentage, 15 homers, 63 RBIs and 58 runs.
