The Philadelphia Phillies acquired reliever Michael Rucker from the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.
The 29-year-old right-hander was 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA in 35 appearances out of the Chicago bullpen in 2023.
Rucker is 5-2 with a 4.96 ERA and one save in 96 games (no starts) since making his debut with the Cubs in 2021. He has struck out 120 batters and walked 50 in 123 1/3 innings of work.
To make room for Rucker on the 40-man roster, the Phillies designated right-hander Andrew Bellatti for assignment.
