Four-star junior quarterback prospect Bear Bachmeier has elected to stay in his native California by committing to Stanford on Monday.

In 2025, the dual-threat quarterback will be joining older brother Tiger Bachmeier, who last season led true freshmen wide receivers in the Pac-12 Conference in catches (36) and yards (409).

“I’ve been to Stanford a ton of times and have genuine relationships there with all the coaches,” Bear Bachmeier told 247Sports. “Plus, Tiger being there is a great additional factor. I mean, throwing to my brother, that’ll be freaking cool.”

Bear Bachmeier, from Murrieta, Calif., is ranked 190th overall in the Class of 2025, 11th among quarterbacks and 18th overall in his state, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Stanford won out over finalists Oregon, Arkansas and Michigan State. Other offers included Alabama, BYU, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon State and Texas A&M.

“Stanford is one of the top degrees in the country,” Bear Bachmeier told ESPN. “What Coach (Troy) Taylor’s background is, I have full belief and confidence that Stanford football is on the rise and will start winning ACC championships and compete for national championships.”

His older brother Hank Bachmeier is a quarterback at Wake Forest of the ACC.

Bear Bachmeier passed for 2,613 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushed for 600 yards and seven scores as a junior at Murrieta Valley High. He threw for 2,853 yards and 26 TDs and rushed for 644 yards and 18 TDs as a sophomore.
