Los Angeles Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt will miss at least three weeks and could be out for a month with a sprained right foot.
Vanderbilt, 24, was injured during the Lakers’ 114-105 road victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday then missed Saturday’s 113-105 road victory against the New York Knicks.
A key defender, Vanderbilt has averaged 5.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 29 games (six starts) of an injury-plagued season. He didn’t make his debut this season until Dec. 2, missing Los Angeles’ first 20 games with a heel injury.
Vanderbilt reportedly saw multiple foot specialists before a mid-foot sprain was diagnosed.
In six NBA seasons, Vanderbilt has averaged 6.1 points with 6.4 rebounds in 273 games (168 starts) for the Denver Nuggets (2019-20), Minnesota Timberwolves (2020-22), Utah Jazz (2022-23) and Lakers.
