Artemi Panarin had a goal and two assists and the visiting New York Rangers scored five straight goals in the second period to come from behind for a 7-2 win against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night.

Zac Jones, Chris Kreider, Jonny Brodzinski and Alexis Lafreniere each had a goal and an assist, Mika Zibanejad had two assists and Jonathan Quick made 29 saves for the Rangers, who had lost two straight and four of five.

Brady Tkachuk and Jakob Chychrun scored and Joonas Korpisalo stopped 13 of 17 shots before he was replaced by Mads Sogaard. He made nine saves for the Senators, who came in riding a season-high five-game point streak (3-0-2).

Ottawa took a 1-0 lead at 11:43 of the first period when K’Andre Miller turned the puck over trying to exit his zone. Claude Giroux fed the puck to Tkachuk cutting through the slot and he slid a backhand through Quick’s pads.

Giroux’s assist was the 700th of his NHL career.

The Senators moved ahead 2-0 at 1:24 of the second period when Chychrun scored with a one-timer from the inside edge of the right circle while on a power play.

The Rangers followed with five goals over an 11:03 stretch.

Lafreniere cut the lead to 2-1 when he got to a loose puck to the side of the net, banked it off Korpisalo and across the goal line at 5:51.

Kreider tied it 2-2 at 8:33 with a wrist shot from above the left circle off the rush.

Jones scored his first goal of the season 39 seconds later off a feed from Panarin to give New York a 3-2 lead.

The Rangers scored on their fourth consecutive shot when Brodzinski tipped in a point shot from Jones to make it 4-2 at 11:16 and end the night for Korpisalo.

Blake Wheeler scored for the second straight game off a feed from Zibanejad to finish a rush and extend the lead to 5-2 at 16:54.

Panarin scored into an empty net with 2:43 left to make it 6-2, then teammate Kaapo Kakko closed the scoring with 2:08 left.
