Charlie McAvoy’s second goal of the game came 1:10 into overtime and helped the visiting Boston Bruins end a three-game losing streak by beating the St. Louis Blues 4-3 on Saturday night.

McAvoy, who also scored in the second period, has six goals this season. David Pastrnak collected the only assist on the game-winning goal. He had two assists in the game.

Brad Marchand also scored twice for Bruins, who received a 20-save performance from Jeremy Swayman. Marchand’s second goal, his 19th of the season, broke a 2-2 tie at 7:43 of the third period and came while the Bruins had a five-on-three advantage.

Oskar Sundqvist tied the game with 5:13 left to play in the third period during a St. Louis power play. It was his fourth goal of the season.

Marchand’s first goal was the 900th point of his career. He became the fifth player to collect at least 900 points as a Bruin, joining Ray Bourque, Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Bucyk and Phil Esposito.

Kevin Hayes and Jake Neighbours also scored for St. Louis, which received 31 saves from Jordan Binnington.

It was the final stop of a four-game road trip for the Bruins, who went 0-3 in the first three games on the trip. Each of those three losses came in overtime or in a shootout.

It was a 1-1 game after one period and 2-2 entering the third.

Marchand opened the scoring 5:02 into the game, but Hayes tied the contest at 6:07 of the first. McAvoy’s first goal gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead at 6:26 of the second period, but the Blues pulled even when Neighbours scored at 10:57 of the second during a St. Louis power play.

James van Riemsdyk collected two assists for the Bruins.

Defenseman Justin Faulk returned to the St. Louis lineup after missing five games with a lower-body injury.

St. Louis entered the game ranked 31st among NHL teams in power-play percentage but scored on two of its three power-play opportunities.
