Vegas Golden Knights leading scorer and newly named All-Star Jack Eichel will “miss a little bit of time” with a lower-body injury, coach Bruce Cassidy said Saturday.

Eichel suffered the injury in Thursday’s 2-1 overtime victory against the Boston Bruins. He left the game in the second period but returned and later scored in the third.

“The latest update we got today is he’ll miss a little bit of time,” Cassidy said Saturday morning at the team facility. “But we’re not sure how much time. Obviously, not good news for us or Jack. But we’ll see how it plays out.”

Eichel’s first game missed was Saturday against visiting Calgary.

Eichel has 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in 42 games this season.

Vegas recalled forward Byron Froese from American Hockey League affiliate Henderson. He is expected to play Saturday.
