Azure Ray rallied from an early two-map deficit to record a 3-2 victory over Gaimin Gladiators on Sunday in the grand final of ESL One Kuala Lumpur.

Azure Ray also overcame an early deficit in a 2-1 victory over Team Liquid in the lower bracket final. They followed up a 37-minute setback on green with 45- and 27-minute victories — also on green.

That propelled Azure Ray into the final against Gaimin Gladiators. The latter quickly got the early jump by notching a 29-minute win on green and a 28-minute win on red before Azure Ray responded with a flourish. They secured a 29-minute win on red, 40-minute victory on green and 37-minute triumph on red.

Twelve teams began the $1 million Dota 2 tournament in the Malaysian capital. Azure Ray won $300,000 and 4,800 ESL Pro Tour points.
